The Grapes is a Grade II listed public house on the north bank of the tidal Limehouse Reach of the Thames, at 76 Narrow Street, London E14 8BP. That’s way out east – see map below. It’s owned in partnership by Russian businessman Evgeny Lebedev,  with Sean Mathias and Sir Ian McKellen, and managed by Paul Mathias.

Evgeny Lebedev is also owner of London’s daily newspaper ‘London Evening Standard’ – see separate post on this blog.

The Grapes has a  great  website.   Well worth a visit –  both the website and the pub!

See the nine foot Anthony Gormley statue, from the terrace at the rear of the Grapes. More statue photos here. It looks as though it’s walking  on water when the tide’s right in. Marvellous.

and while there, check out gastropub ‘The Narrow’ nearby.

Lots of  photos of The Grapes  here.
