Okinawa Day

The annual Okinawa festival was held 20 June 2015 in Spitalfields. It’s a remarkable cultural event. It’s organised by the London Okinawa Sanshinkai and Okinawa Association U.K   The London Okinawa Sanshinkai, is a collection of people who are enthusiastic about Okinawan folk and classical music and traditional dance. Amongst the members are Okinawans, mainland Japanese and several other nationalities.

The Okinawa and Ryuku Islands are part of Japan and lie some 400 miles south west of mainland Japan. The island of Okinawa is the largest island in the group. Useful wiki article here.
