Official Stamp of Finland

Finland is certainly bold in the matter of its postage stamps.  It celebrated the 2014 centenary of Tove Jansson’s birth with a range of Moomin stamps.

Even the Angry Birds get to feature:

And September 2014 saw the issue stamps showing some of the work of ‘Tom of Finland’. Certainly controversial.

Now ‘snail mail’ has arrived from Finland – congratulations to Finland ! Lots more about ‘Tom’ here.  And on wiki here.

A whole range of Finish postage stamps here.

In 2015 Finish designer Kaus Happeniemi designed his first postage stamp for Finland – a beautiful golden swan.  More about the swan here.

In 2015 a stamp was issued to celebrate the success of Punk Band “Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät” in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.   See more in 2019 Blog here.
