Anatolian Festival 2014

Turkey is alive and well and living in Clissold Park, Stoke Newington.  The May 2014 Anatolian Festival is a cultural feast. You’ll learn more about Turkish culture there in a day than as a tourist in Istanbul for a month.  Food, music, oil wresting, Ottoman marching military band, shadow puppets, juggling. There’s a nomadic tent to take a  cup of coffee or a glass of tea, and there’s delicios llamacun [a little like a pizza] and big favourite kunefe [hot, shredded wheat consistency, mixed with fresh cheese and soaked in honey ].  Also increasingly known ‘Pide’.
